More. Like Jesus.

Paul challenged his beloved Philippians to not just celebrate a day of thanksgiving, but to make it a life-style. In Philippians 4:4-7 he wrote “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

In a week where many are choosing anger and violence, Paul’s words resonate. Can you choose joy in all circumstances? Do you season your life with gentleness and thanksgiving and heartfelt prayer? Then the promise of God is a peace which guards both your heart and your mind!

Today is the first day of Advent, a season when we remember both the first coming of the incarnate Savior and look as well to His second coming. It’s an amazing opportunity to put the Christ-life into practice and I’m so excited to be able to walk through this Christmas season again with you! Today we’re beginning a new worship series we’re calling “Magnificent–” an invitation to both grow healthy souls which magnify God before the world, and also to focus on the Magnificent One Himself, through the song of Mary we’ve come to know as “The Magnificat.” You can prepare for worship by reading Psalm 34:1-3 and Luke 1:46-55.

Let’s exalt His name together!
